Florida is in a state of emergency.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has declared a state of emergency for 24 counties and warned on Twitter that while the storm's track is uncertain, "Floridians should remain vigilant and ensure their households are prepared for a potential impact."

There is potential for the storm's track to shift this weekend and into next week according to AccuWeather forecasters

So what are your options?

If you have a vacation planned during the time of the possible hurricane causing havoc in Disney World, what options do you have?

Before we discussed the options, you must know that there must be a hurricane warning to be issued by the National Hurricane Center in order for you to be able to make changes to your reservations without penalty. According to a Disney representative, the warning is expected to be released withing the next 24 hours.

When the National Hurricane Center issues a hurricane warning within 7 days of your arrival, you have the following options.

  1. Reschedule your vacation for a later date.

  2. Cancel without any penalty and receive a refund. If you have purchased travel protection, the refund will be issued minus the cost of the travel protection.

What if you have a Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party ticket or any special event ticket?

You do have options!

  1. You or your travel agent can contact ticket services to request a refund.

  2. You or your travel agent can contact ticket services to apply the value towards the cost of a future ticket.

How do you cancel?

  1. Contact your travel agent so they can cancel through their travel agent portal (this is probably the quickest and easiest).

  2. Call 1-407-939-5277 to speak to a Disney representative.

Here at Luminous Travels, we hope everyone in the effected areas stay safe!
